- 1Cook pasta in salted water, reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining
- 2Toast black pepper in a dry pan for 1 minute
- 3Add butter and 1/2 cup pasta water to the pepper
- 4Toss drained pasta in the pan
- 5Add cheese gradually, tossing and adding pasta water until creamy
